YouthBuild Development VISTA - Canoga Park, CA

ACE's RUTH YouthBuild program helps low-income young people, ages 16-24, connect to the "American Dream," and grow as leaders in their own communities. RUTH stands for our organizations core values: Resilience, Unity, Transformation and Hope. RUTH YouthBuild provides a high school education, construction training, leadership development, community engagement, counseling and support services. Our YouthBuild model provides knowledge, training, and other tools for success, while supporting and transforming personal development. Participants have access to healing through counseling, family mediation, mentoring and restorative practices. As participants experience this transformative programming, they are empowered to give back, strengthening the community through advocacy, social action, and service. Member Duties : The VISTA will work to increase the number of YouthBuild students attaining a high school diploma, engaging in service to their community, and gaining job skills. Specifically, the VISTA will develop partnerships focused on supportive services and employment opportunities for students. The VISTA will also identify gaps and unmet programmatic needs and work with a team to raise funds to address priority needs.
