As directed by the physician, provides diagnostic imaging of blood flow and heart wall motion by ultrasound, conducts scanning of the carotid and venous system by ultrasound, and performs studies of arterial pressures by plethysmography, according to established standards and practice. Performs Echocardiograms, Stress Echocardiograms, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms and Transesophageal Echocardiograms according to established standards and practice. Process images for interpretation. Assist in selection of equipment according to specifications. Explain the exam process to patients. Review a patient#s clinical history. Operate ultrasound diagnostic equipment. Maintains equipment and follows proper safety procedures. Organizes work area and maintains supplies. Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served.# Graduate of an Ultrasound school or High School graduate/equivalent with one year experience of performing at least 600 cardiac ultrasounds. Registered Cardiac Sonographer from Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI) or a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Two years Cardiac Sonography experience in a hospital/outpatient setting. Knowledge of cardiac equipment. Knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary diagnostic equipment. BLS by American Heart Association Required.
