Overview

As our Surgical Tech II at St. Joseph Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. We can't operate without you.

The operating room (OR) runs as a team; every person on the team has an important role that directly impacts the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.

With the area's only Level II Trauma Center the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center and the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the Brazos Valley; CHI St. Joseph Health is a leader in critical care and the largest provider of cardiovascular care in the region. As an integrated healthcare system CHI St. Joseph Health includes a comprehensive network of over 100 employed providers including primary care physicians specialists and advanced practice clinicians. The network includes more than 20 ambulatory clinics featuring primary care a freestanding Emergency Room Express Clinics and imaging and diagnostic services.

We are offering a $5,000 Sign on Bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

* Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization
* Navigate the nuances of surgical procedures and surgeons you'll be supporting
* Adapt to the needs of emergency situations
* Provide clean-up and turnover of operating room to prepare for next patient

Qualifications

* High School Diploma/GED
* 1+ Years Of Experience In Surgical Tech role
* Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) required as of September 1, 2010
* American Heart Associate BLS CPR
