POSITION SUMMARY:

Serve as assistant coach to an assigned sport program during Fall, Winter and Spring seasons, while participating in the Graduate Assistantship program at USM.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Oversee the conduct, discipline and positive character development of student-athletes by using the guidelines and principles of the USM Mission and the NAIA Champions of Character initiative.
* Counsel student-athletes in personal development and academic success.
* Teach and promote the USM Mission values of community, respect, justice and excellence.
* Assists with directing the conditioning of student athletes to achieve maximum athletic performance.
* Responsible for administering NAIA, KCAC and USM policies pertaining to recruitment and student-athlete eligibility.
* Assist with recruitment efforts for the USM Lacrosse program.
* Assist sport program with duties assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Head Coach.
* Works with the Athletic Department in all sport management, information, promotions, fundraising, and recruitment efforts.
* Performs additional job related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's Degree.
* Must meet eligibility for USM Graduate Assistantship program.
* Playing experience at the collegiate level preferred.
* Offensive Coordinator or Face-Off Specialist experience preferred.
* Working and/or player knowledge of NCAA, NAIA or KCAC rules and regulations preferred.
