POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is seeking an individual to lead and perform testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment to meet production schedules and performance standards. Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime. This position will receive instructions on daily work and new assignments. Duties and tasks are standardized but what is performed will vary day to day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs various production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies
* Uses test procedures, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units
* Advanced knowledge of electronic testing and circuit analysis and ability to troubleshoot down to component level
* Works under minimal supervision collaboratively with leadership to drive team to meet metrics, goals, and objectives
* Works on assignments that are be moderate to complex in nature
* Uses initiative and judgment to solve problems
* Displays leadership traits by acting as a positive role model for others.
* May lead a small project and provide direction to others
* Ability to maintain a professional rapport with support groups and peers while achieving results
* Ability to provide seamless coverage across all product platforms with minimal training and guidance
* Looked to as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for certain product platforms; provides training on products and processes as needed
* Strong understanding and compliance with Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts. Looked to as a team lead for the implementation and maintenance of certain components of such concepts
* Ability to manage team priorities and demonstrate a high level of initiative
* Initiates and contributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put and cost reductions
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic test equipment failures
* May assist in building and implementing new test fixturing
* Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize nonconformities is required
* Communicates openly and effectively in a professional manner
* Understands and follows all safety requirements
* Understands and follows all ISO practices and procedures
* Maintains fixturing, performs calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance
* Assists with training other AE employees in established processes
* Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies
* Documents test results accurately
* May act as the technical interface with other departments
* Models professional and positive work ethics
* Considers the impact of quality on the customers when making decisions
* Ability to effectively work in a team environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
* Works in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast paced
* Many tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipment
* Overtime (OT) may be required in times of increased production
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Standing 40%
* Walking 20%
* Sitting 40%
* Carrying 30lbs
* Pushing 50lbs
* Pulling 50lbs
* Lifting 50lbs (unassisted) and up to 100lbs (assisted)
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions
* Soldering skills required
* Ability to perform basic electro/mechanical assembly skills
* Component identification and the ability to read technical assembly documentation and schematics required
* Basic computer knowledge
* Basic knowledge of SAP
EXPERIENCE:
* 6+ years' experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing. Advanced knowledge of electro-mechanical testing and circuit analysis
* Proven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environment
* Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices
EDUCATION:
* AAS degree in electronics or equivalent preferred and completion of the AE technician test
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $34 to $44 per hour.
