Description

To support the continued growth of our large-scale, fully-automated, quantitative trading across global financial markets, Quantlab is seeking a Quantitative Research Scientist to add to our team in Houston, TX. Candidates will apply rigorous statistical methods on a wide range of datasets leveraging Quantlab's world-class research and trading infrastructure in a challenging, informal, and intellectually-stimulating environment.

What you'll do:
  • Collect and analyze market data in order to extract patterns, correlations and understand global markets
  • Utilize the results to create predictions and trading signals using statistical/ML analysis
  • Conduct research to build and refine monetization systems for trading signals
  • Collaborate extensively within and across teams

What you'll have:
  • Graduate degree in Statistics, Math, Physics, Engineering, or other highly-quantitative field
  • Solid mathematical and analytical ability
  • Exceptional problem-solving and modeling ability
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct high quality quantitative research
  • Modeling experience with large and complex real-world data (in any field)
  • Working familiarity with Python, R or MATLAB
  • Self-motivated and highly-productive, with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus points:
  • Industry experience (e.g., research in cross-sectional micro/macro structure in Equities/Futures, daily/multiday trading strategies, alternative data)
  • Proven record of initiating innovative research, familiar with top tier research environment
  • Understanding of underlying logic of certain trading strategies
  • Practical experience in applying/diagnosing/modifying machine learning algorithms with real data, demonstrated in previous job/data science competition
  • History of peer-reviewed publications
