You'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of our students, faculty, and staff. As a key Parking and Transportation Department member, you'll contribute to our transportation services' smooth and efficient operation, making a difference in the WSSU campus and surrounding community.

What You'll Do:

* Safely and skillfully operate standard vehicles, including cars, vans, and buses, to transport passengers and cargo according to established routes and schedules.
* Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with students, faculty, staff, and other passengers.
* Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance, ensuring vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and in good working order.
* Accurately maintain standard mileage, daily count, and cash receipt records.
* Ensure the safe loading and unloading of passengers, including individuals with disabilities.
* Drive both local and long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulatory requirements.
* Respond to emergencies and report safety issues to supervisors promptly.

What We're Looking For:

* Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with full endorsement and experience driving large buses carrying passengers.
* Proven experience in customer-oriented settings, with the ability to interact well with diverse groups of people.
* Strong knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle operation, and safety procedures.
* Ability to manage schedules, follow instructions, and maintain detailed records.
