This vital leadership role involves strategic planning, staff management, and overseeing the implementation of nursing practices and protocols. Team and Facility Description:

As the Director of Nursing Services, you will lead a dedicated team known for their compassion and expertise in nursing care.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy: As the Director of Nursing Services, develop and implement nursing department strategies that align with the facility’s goals. Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing service programs and make adjustments as necessary.
- Staff Management and Development: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing nursing team. Manage staffing processes, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure all nursing operations comply with regulatory requirements. The DNS will continuously monitor and evaluate healthcare delivery systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Policy Development: Establish and enforce policies and procedures that promote resident safety and the highest quality of care. The Director of Nursing Services is responsible for updating these protocols to keep pace with changes in healthcare regulations.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other department heads to facilitate integrated care across the facility. The DNS plays a key role in maintaining open lines of communication across disciplines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must possess a current RN license in the state of Connecticut.
- Experience: Extensive experience in nursing management, ideally in a long-term care facility or similar setting.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; in-depth knowledge of nursing operations and patient care.
- Certifications: Advanced certifications in nursing administration are highly desirable.
