Position Overview:

The East Jefferson General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced family medicine physician to join our ACGME accredited 6-6-6 Family Medicine Residency Program as a core faculty member. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the education and training of future family medicine physicians. This position will involve both clinical and teaching responsibilities within our Family Medicine Residency Program. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of clinical and teaching experience and be comfortable providing both inpatient and outpatient care. While obstetrical experience is preferred, it is not required.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Supervise and mentor residents, offering guidance and support in their clinical and educational activities.

Develop and deliver didactic lectures, workshops, and case-based discussions.

Participate in curriculum development and evaluation to ensure the highest educational standards.

Collaborate with fellow faculty members and program leadership to enhance the residency program.

Actively engage in scholarly activities and research projects.

Qualifications:

Board certification in Family Medicine.

Current Louisiana state medical license, DEA registration, and CDS license.

A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical and teaching experience in family medicine strongly preferred.

Comfortable providing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Obstetrical experience preferred but not required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards.

A passion for medical education and the development of future physicians.

Schedule:

Mon-Fri 8-5, no outpatient call, rotating inpatient call
