Job Title: Medical Technologist Generalist

Locations:

+ Somerville, NJ - overnight only

+ Newark, NJ - evening & overnight

+ Elizabeth, NJ - evening & overnight

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

+ BS in Medical Laboratory Science or L ife Science (biology or chemistry)

+ Core lab and blood banking experience required

+ ASCP or NCA certification is a plus

Description:

Support chemistry, hematology and microbiology benches and rotate benches each day

+ Urinalysis testing

+ Microscopy

+ Review peripheral smears and identify normal and abnormal cells

+ Gram stain review

+ Identify bacteria

+ Update LIS

+ Check quality control, maintain machines and instruments in laboratory, troubleshoot, call critical samples and complete the pending log in a timely manner

+ work in a high volume hospital core laboratory

+ Instruments - Vista, Centar, Architect, Vitas Sysmex, ACL top, Ised Elite, histology stainers, Cephied, Biofire, Verigene

+ complete blood cultures identifications and PCR testing

+ run quality control testing and instrumentation validation

Work Environment:

+ Work on a team with about 5 other techs on the benches on evening shift. Everyone is cross trained so anyone can assist you on any bench and have a lead tech to train and a supervisor that can support any urgent needs.

+ Solid leadership team in the NBI laboratory - great collaboration and transparency

+ Diverse team and emphasis on diverse leaders and thought

+ Can train on all benches and look to cross train even in blood banking
