Join our team Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Skilled Nursing unit is now hiring a full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse to work at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. Located in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center, the SNU department provides 18 private patient rooms for specialized care for our geriatric population as well as rehabilitation for many other post-acute needs including surgical, neurological, cardiac and more. main campus of Laredo Medical Center. Employees in this units report directly to the Director of Nursing. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Position's Purpose and Essential Functions

Administers nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.

Applicants Job Requirements Include

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

* Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Experience:

* Preferred: One (1) year full time or three (3) years part time experience in acute care setting.

Licenses/Certificates:

* Required: LPN/LVN license from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
* Required: BLS, within 30 days of hire.
* ACLS, PALS, or NRP (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
* Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.

Letter(s) of Recommendation are preferred for applicants with less than 1 year of applicable experience in nursing.

Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
