Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Craft - Channelview, TX

* Mon-Fri schedule, occasional Saturday - overtime available
* Shop position with opportunity to grow into Field Mechanic with work truck
* Cell phone, and work iPad provided

Key Responsibilities

* Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, tracks, diesel engines and transmissions for a variety of construction equipment and crane types
* Maintain a safe, organized and clean shop work environment.
* Effectively communicate equipment issues with supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction
* Operate/maneuver heavy equipment on site in a safe and effective manner
* Check daily to ensure equipment functions properly and in a safe manner
* Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.
* Accurately order needed parts from vendors when necessary and track procurement timelines
* Operate and test equipment after repair
* Responsible for keeping equipment organized in the Yard.

Skills & Qualifications

* 5+ years experience with a large construction company as a heavy equipment mechanic
* Thorough knowledge of equipment and safety processes used in commercial, civil and/or marine construction
* Knowledge of equipment maintenance, storage, schematics and diagrams
* Necessary tools to perform the work assigned
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to weld and fabricate preferred
* Ability to complete daily activities according to work schedule
* Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
* Exhibit strong work ethic, teamwork, customer service, verbal and written skills
* Age 18+
* Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
* TWIC credentials and CDL preferred
