Payroll Coordinator II

Job Summary: This position is responsible for preparing and processing bi-weekly payrolls for multiple entities and states.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Submit, review, and accept payrolls under the direction of the Director of Payroll
* Establish and maintain employee payroll records
* Manage and audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards and applicable law
* Assist with miscellaneous internal audits
* Calculate and record payroll deductions
* Validate employee profile changes including pay increases, department transfers, and position changes
* Enter employee changes into HRIS system such as tax status and time position information
* Process involuntary deductions, such as garnishments and wage levies
* Calculate final paychecks, process quick calculations, and manual checks as required
* Create and run reports within HRIS system
* Assist with payroll system maintenance
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a relevant field from a four-year college or university

Experience:

* Two or more years of multi-state payroll processing experience
* Knowledge of payroll administration principles and practices
* Working payroll tax experience at the federal, state, and local levels

Technical Skills:

* Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
* Proficiency with and/or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS system

Soft Skills:

* Highly organized and detail orientated
* Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information
* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
* Superior time management skills
* Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work with all levels of management and staff

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
* Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
* Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day
* Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
* May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
