JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Team Lead assigns, executes, and reviews work performed by Maintenance Technicians on the assigned shift. This position is responsible in ensuring that fellow team members are safely executing maintenance tasks and completing end of shift reports. This position is also responsible for inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and assembling all equipment within the Production Facility. This includes Hydraulic Forge Presses, Natural Gas and Electric powered Furnaces, Product Conditioning Equipment, Overhead Cranes, Mobile Equipment, CNC Machines (Horizontal and Vertical Lathes), and Water Jets.

Essential Functions:

This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.

Beginning of Shift:

Conduct a hand-off meeting with the previous shift Team Lead:

* Review any Safety incidents that may have occurred or any new issues/hazards.
* Review any Quality incidents and concerns that occurred on previous shift.
* Discuss any scheduled/unscheduled work that is in progress.
* List current equipment status throughout plant.
* Assign and prioritize work for shift personnel based on generated work orders and supervisor direction.
* Review any general topics.

During the Shift:

* Ensure all shift personnel are working safely and following company standards.
* Monitor shift personnel performance, identify issues, and raise concerns to the Supervisor.
* Responsible for the completion of all assigned preventative maintenance work orders throughout the shift.
* Lead the troubleshooting effort on all equipment breakdowns during the assigned shift.
* Train Maintenance Technicians on assigned shift to sufficiently handle equipment breakdowns and operate equipment.
* Verify that all assigned tasks and breakdown equipment has been addressed and a status for each is clearly communicated to the Supervisor.
* Inspect and restore work area to acceptable 5S status and perform end of shift audit.
* Communicate to the Supervisor which spare parts were used during repairs.
* Demonstrate good judgement, decision making, and team building skills.
* Create a culture throughout the assigned shift to address equipment breakdowns and facility requests in a timely manner.

End of Shift:

* Conduct a hand-off meeting with the incoming shift Team Lead.
* Complete the End of Shift Report and send out to required team members.
* Communicate all pertinent Safety, Quality, and Production information to incoming Team Lead.
* Review all equipment breakdowns and in process work.
* Input all completed and in process work into the Maintenance Management System and accurately reflect the associated labor hours for the assigned shift.

Technical Functions:

* Maintain Equipment through the execution of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical issues causing equipment failures.
* Prepare and maintain records detailing inspections, observations, and repairs on all equipment.
* Consult equipment manuals, schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and engineering personnel to efficiently troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
* Demonstrate a general understanding of Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical system principles.
* Ability to operate heavy machinery such as Forklifts, Extended Boom Lifts, Scissors Lifts, and Production Equipment.
* Troubleshoot/Repair facility and equipment pneumatic systems.
* Rebuild/Replace Hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, accumulators, and hoses.
* Remove, Repair, and Install up to 40" hydraulic pipe.
* Fabricate simple equipment designs to support Operations and repair equipment.
* Electrical troubleshooting up to 480V.
* Replace electrical motors, motor contactors, fuses, breakers.
* Troubleshoot large hydraulic and mechanical systems to find and repair hydraulic leaks.
* Ability to work at heights to service overhead cranes.
* Comfortable working in dirty environments to support the hydraulic forge presses.
* Ability to complete general Production Facility duties such as clearing debris, installing product racking, and other 5S initiatives.
* Ability to work a rotating shift (Days/Nights) that supports a 24/7 operation.
* Maintain a safe and organized workstation and follows all company safety policies and procedures.
* Performs all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

* Hydraulic Systems - Knowledge of how hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and accessory equipment works to generate desired equipment movement.
* Mechanical Systems - Knowledge of general mechanical systems and how to troubleshoot those systems.
* Electrical Systems - Knowledge of general electrical systems and how to troubleshoot those systems.
* Equipment Preventative Maintenance - Monitoring gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
* Troubleshooting - Demonstrate an ability to determine why equipment failed and make the necessary repairs to return equipment to Operations.
* Communication - Ability to effectively and comfortably communicate technical information to others inside and outside of the Maintenance Department.
* Production and Processing - General knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
* Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of equipment, products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
* Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
* Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
* Basic functions of Microsoft Office Suite.
