Job Description

St. Stanislaus School is a faith-based and family-oriented school that has dedicated itself to serving the students of East Chicago for the past 100 years. The interventionist is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in a safe and caring environment. We are looking for a teacher who has genuine care for children and is committed to their success. The Title I Interventionist will work with small groups of targeted students in a pull-out or push-in setting. They will assess student needs and create and implement an individualized learning plan for the students. The Title I interventionist will work closely with the homeroom teacher in supporting student learning and success.

This is a part-time position: 2 days per week, 6 hours per day. There is potential for increased hours with a job share with another local Catholic elementary school.

Job Requirements

Provide a positive environment and instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and needs. Uses and analyzes data to drive instruction. Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy educational environment.

Job Qualifications

Candidates must possess an Indiana teaching license and degree in education.
