Responsibilities:

  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during a variety of surgical cases, including vascular, OB, pediatrics, neuro, general surgery, and orthopedics.
  • Collaborate closely with the anesthesia team, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period by monitoring vital signs, managing anesthesia levels, and addressing any anesthesia-related complications.
  • Document patient cares accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively contribute to the interdisciplinary team, participating in clinical discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Must possess current certification as a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), demonstrating proficiency in administering anesthesia and providing patient care.
  • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree is required, reflecting a strong educational foundation in anesthesia practice.
  • Current New York State RN license or willingness to obtain one prior to starting employment.
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification, ensuring proficiency in essential life-saving techniques.
