Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Specialty: Long-Term Care (LTC)

Job Duration: 13-week assignment

Shift: 11 pm to 7 am, 5 x 8

Guaranteed Hours: 40.00

Experience: 2 to 3 years with LTC experience

License: Certified Nursing Assistant or nursing student enrolled in a BSN program who has successfully completed theoretical and clinical practice in fundamentals of nursing

Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association

Must-Have: 2 to 3 years of experience in LTC

Job Description:

- Provide direct hygiene and comfort care to patients including bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, incontinent care, and bed making.
- Take vital signs and document results, notifying the RN of the outcomes.
- Perform and document glucose finger sticks and collect other specimens such as stool, urine, and sputum.
- Obtain and document daily patient weights and observe and document patient intake and output.
- Ensure a safe patient environment by answering call lights promptly and communicating any change in patient condition to the RN immediately.
- Act as a patient sitter when needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe nursing unit and patient room.
- Identify and modify care to meet the specific needs of the patient population served, including age, culture, and any hearing and/or visual impairments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers tailored to their level of understanding, educational, and literacy needs.
- Regular contact with medical personnel, patients, and visitors is required.

Schedule Notes:

- Every other weekend requirement
- Holiday requirement: 4 out of 6 holidays
- No on-call requirement
- Float requirement: Yes
