High school diploma or equivalent, three years of experience in electrical work, and possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions

* Installs, maintains, alters, and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment to include power appliances, light machinery, electrical circuits using applicable hand and power tools.
* Installs electrical fixtures and appliances in newly constructed areas using a ladder as required.
* Locates and corrects failed power circuits.
* Performs electrical work on photoelectric cells, time clocks, electric heaters, air conditioners, motor generator sets, and air compressors.
* Oversees electrical work performed by lower level staff.
* Performs emergency repairs to elevators, generators, and other electrical equipment as required.
* Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Uses a university vehicle to travel to various locations and transport materials.
* Utilizes a bucket truck or ariel lift as required.
* Regular and prompt attendance.
* Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
* Related duties as required.
