Substitute Cafeteria Workers

These positions are on-call for School Nutrition to fill in on an as needed basis. Typically scheduled for a 3 hour shift (may vary) and these positions are part-time and do not include employee benefits. The hourly rate of pay is $16.75 an hour. Duties Include:

* Performs a variety of duties related to the Billerica School Nutrition Program
* Prepare foods for menus following USDA regulations, recipes and serving sizes.
* Operate kitchen equipment for food preparation, serving meals, sanitation, dishwasher, POS (point of sale), etc. effectively
* Set up serving areas and other food items as assigned
* Serve breakfast and lunch to students as scheduled
* Adhere to safe and sanitary working practices and procedures. Maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition
* Performs duties involved in the safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, and serving of food.
* Adhere to uniform procedure
* Assure food items and supplies are stored properly
* Must be able to stand for duration of work shift
* Must be able to lift 40lbs
* Must be able to follow written and oral instruction
* Communicate both verbally and written with students and adults effectively
* Works as a member of the school nutrition team
* Assist students in the cafeteria serving area
* Performs and responsible for other general duties as assigned by the Cook Manager and Director of School Nutrition or designee and policies of the Billerica School Committee
