TCNJ AmeriCorps: Trenton Area Soup Kitchen - Digital Asst.

TCNJ AmeriCorps is committed to helping nonprofit organizations build the sustainability of programs beyond the presence of AmeriCorps support to meet community impact objectives. The program supports 30-40 members to address issues related to youth literacy, college access, food security, and job skill training. This position would be placed directly at Arm in Arm in Trenton, NJ serving the needs of the community who are food insecure. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.

Member Duties : • Serve as a point of contact for patrons in search of technology assistance. • Patrons and Students are supported in developing PC skills • Collaborate with Education and Employment staff on the technology needs of students and job seekers • Assist with managing of inventory and distribution of donated laptops • Monitor open PC lab sessions • Assist patrons with e-mail, basic questions about using the internet, logging in to typing tutor programs, and other online tasks as needed • Assist patrons to navigate basic smartphone apps (calendar, notes, reminders, accessibility features, etc.) • Assist Computer Resource Specialist with posting and uploading training courses and materials to YouTube and Google classroom • Assist with lab housekeeping • Direct PC function issues to the next level of support • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by users to the appropriate internal team *Collaborate on special projects
