Job Summary

* Responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
* Perform routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient.
* Perform observations of patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
* Perform specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT).
* Assist in all aspects of daily living activities for the patients, including, but not limited to general hygiene of the patient, changings, light housekeeping, and patient vitals.

Available Units:

4 North - Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit:

The 4N Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit is located on the fourth floor of the North Tower building. This is a 19-bed unit with capabilities for telemetry cardiac monitoring. The most frequent diagnoses for the medical patients are cardiovascular conditions, respiratory conditions, diabetes, and infectious processes. The surgical patients represent a variety of specialties including, but not limited to, general surgery, urology surgery and orthopedic surgery.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED
* Must be at least 18 years of age.

Experience

* Prior direct patient care experience preferred, but not required for employment.

Certification and Licensure

* BLS Certification
