Expansion Joint Tech

The Expansion Joint Tech produces products, per drawings, from a combination of fabric, rubber, insulation, and other specified materials. The positon requires the use of tape measures and multiple types of hand tools to manufacture the expansion joints.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

* Daily activities may include grinding, material/part preparation, shop and work station cleanup, picking and placing parts for further use, using hand tools such as heat iron, stapler, scissors, razor blades, drills, and various measuring tools to cut textile pieces for expansion joint units.
* Read blueprints and be able to accurately cut and prepare required materials.
* Assisting receiving materials and packaging product for shipment as requested.
* This job requires occasional travel off-site for installation or replacement at a customer plant.
* Perform required workplace and equipment pre-shift inspections and cleaning.
* Tell the Foreman and/or Manager of any safety hazards
* Participate in the Continuous Improvement of the operation
* Administer all duties in a safe and efficient manner

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:

* Access all areas within a site which could include heights, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs.
* Will be working at times in office environment but mainly in a manufacturing environment.
* The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles. Fiberglass Insulation material is used in the product.
* The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
* Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed
