Job Summary and Qualifications

The Emergency Department RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:

* Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs
* Prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources
* Carries out physician orders Assists physician during examination, treatment and procedures
* Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs
* Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
* Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems Instructs and educates patients and families
* Assesses and coordinates patients discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
* Provides age and culturally appropriate care
* Orients and mentors new staff members
* Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required

What qualifications you will need:

* Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
* Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
* Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
* Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
* Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date


* One- three years of ER experience preferred

HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility in Okeechobee County. We offer inpatient and outpatient services. We are licensed by Floridas Agency for Health Care Administration as a Primary Stroke Center. We provide diagnostic services accredited by the American College of Radiology. Our Hospital's surgical services include minimally invasive procedures. HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is a community hospital with state-of-the-art practices. We are located in the Big Lake area of Central Florida. The area has sports fishing, natural beauty, easygoing lifestyle and friendly people.
