GENERAL DUTIES

* Provides direction to and coordination of personnel during assigned shifts.
* Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies and equipment. Assembles wraps and sterilizes trays of instruments. Follows proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.
* Monitors biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
* Leverages instrument tracking system to update instrument details.
* Performs basic equipment troubleshooting prior to contacting Biomed or OEM for repair.
* Provides daily station assignments to create appropriate departmental workflow.
* Assists in quality assessments and identifies educational opportunities for staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

* High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of sterile processing or operating room scrub technician experience.
* 3 years of experience in lieu of education.
* Preferred: Education and/or training in Sterile Processing, Surgical Technology, or other equivalent medical training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Good communication skills.
* Good problem-solving skills.
* Multi-tasking skills.
* Problem-solving skills.
