● Participate in Data Team Meetings to help ensure the appropriateness of referrals
for psycho-educational evaluations.
● Complete skills assessments and utilize this information to help teachers better determine
student needs and appropriate educational interventions within the MTSS process. Complete
preschool screenings when requested.
● Participate in referral meetings for students being referred to the Psychological Services
Department.
● Review referral information, permanent records, and other pertinent materials to
determine appropriate evaluation procedures and accurate student needs.
● Coordinate the gathering of information to conduct the psycho-educational evaluation in a
timely manner to ensure compliance and complete evaluations for students referred for an
evaluation/re-evaluation.
● Prepare complete psycho-educational evaluation reports addressing all concerns noted in
the referral.
● Participate in meetings of the Case Conference Committee to interpret evaluation results
and assist the Committee in determining the educational program needed to address the
student's school success needs.
● Serve as an agent of the CEP Shared Services to ensure compliance with the requirements
of Article 7 and other applicable state/federal regulations in all Case Conference procedures.
● Be available to provide consultation related to the students referred for an evaluation or
enrolled in special education as requested by school personnel and parents.
● Provide consultation and/or in-service training for school personnel and parents to increase
their understanding of special education programs, special education student needs, and
available school and community services.
● Keep abreast of current trends and issues, testing procedures and materials, and relevant
legislation/litigation through professional reading, attendance at workshops or other
professional conferences, and/or participation in professional organizations.
● Serve as a resource person with regard to services which are available through the CEP
Shared Services, other professionals, and community agencies.
● Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
