Current NM Driver's License, Journeyman gas fitter (license JG) or Low pressure boiler operator license (BO1), and
EPA refrigerant recovery certificate.

General Function:
Maintains District environmental conditions by installing, maintaining and repairing commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment; maintaining records.
Establishes environmental systems by mounting, installing, fabricating, or connecting compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, expansion and discharge values, motors, temperature and humidity controls, fans, control panels, switches, fuses, filters, gauges, ducts, piping, tubing, and related components; completes power connections. Oversees and directs daily work of contractors assigned to projects.
Education/Training/Experience
(Basic minimum requirements are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District.)
Minimum:
* High School Diploma or GED; trade or vocational school training; any combination of progressively responsible specialized experience in commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning trade totaling six (6) years of certification or licenses:
* Sheet metal work
* Heating, ventilation and air conditioning troubleshooting and maintenance
* Completed OSHA 10 hour General Industry Outreach Course.
* Experience working on buildings HVAC systems having Energy Management Control (Delta preferred).
* Basic electrical experience with 120v/208 single and three phase and 277 v /480 three phase electricity, including troubleshooting. Single and three phase and solid state.
* Basic experience with plumbing including knowledge of water valves, piping, circulating pumps and pressure relief valves.
* Extensive knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
* Ability to read, interpret, and work from sketches, diagrams and construction drawings; to make cost estimates of time and materials; to function as a consultant and/or inspector in areas of specialization
* Ability to effectively use a computer to monitor, trouble shoot and enter software programs.
* Ability to trace and trouble shoot low voltage control wiring.
Preferred: Bilingual - Spanish & English. Preference given to operators of Automated Logic WebCTRL system and/or Trane Tracer Summit and ES systems. Mechanical/Plumbing Journeyman License.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to read mechanical and electrical schematics specifications. Must be able to perform heating and cooling work in a manner that satisfies requirements established in regulations and standards governing electrical work.
Essential Job Functions
All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the organization. Current essential functions include the following:
* Performs troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance with a high degree of skill related to specialized maintenance work in the trade specific disciplines. Instructs, trains, leads and supervises less skilled tradesmen in the completion of trade specific work.
* Performs scheduling of events in Building Energy Management Systems
* Provides excellent customer service.
* Upon approval of supervisor purchases supplies as needed to perform work. Considers the purchase of materials that provide the best value to the district.
* Coordinates and performs quality control of contractors hired to install, replace HVAC components and standalone systems. Dispatches and schedules contractors for regular and emergency work upon approval by supervisor.
* Prepares job estimates and prioritizes materials, time, and labor, required to complete assignments in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
* Receives and accurately records all work performed in the district electronic work order system. Properly accounts for costs including hours worked, materials used and contracted services used to complete work order.
* Uses and maintains tools, equipment and vehicles assigned and assures that all is maintained and used safely as outlined by manufacturer and or preventative maintenance procedures.
* Performs all work using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with Maintenance Safety Plan.
* Assists Maintenance Supervisor in planning projects. Serves as a consultant to supervisor in areas of expertise.
* May be called upon to perform after hours work.
* Must be willing to be trained on entering information into School Dude Maintenance Management system.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
