Since 1974, Alpert JFS, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, has strengthened and enriched the lives of men, women, and children of all ages. We do this through a continuum of focused programs addressing the well-being of children and families of all ages, the independence and well-being of older adults, and the optimal quality of life for individuals with special needs.

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Direct Care Professional to assists residents and support the work of the Residential Care Manager with specific tasks, allowing the resident to live independently in a supported apartment setting.

Direct Care Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents of the apartment program to support client care plan and help execute life skill such as grooming, hygiene, time management, housekeeping, personal safety skills, and basic emergency skills
  • Ensures the safety of the client and the residence to minimize accidents and protect the client's well-being
  • Provide transportation to doctor's appointments, recreational programs and shopping
  • Administer medications to clients when requested/needed
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in the program communication log and in the client's files.
  • Complete incident reports when needed/required timely
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to meet quality and program standards

Overnights: Friday 3p-7a Saturday 9p-7a and Sunday 9p-7a

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience required, working with special needs population preferred
  • Valid FL License and good driving record
  • Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing
  • Annual medical certification to perform job functions
  • Able and willing to drive a twelve (12) passenger van
  • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with various employees throughout the organization
