**Primary Responsibilities:**

+ Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile

+ Assists patients with signing in and completing registration

+ Enters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into Epic

+ Verifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefits

+ Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages

+ Assists physician by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referral appointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testing

+ Assist in direct patient care, rooming patients, eye exam

+ Assists with other tasks as assigned

**Required Qualifications:**

+ High school education or equivalent experience

+ Customer service experience and solid computer skills

+ Proven ability to work a flexible schedule

+ Proven ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Epic experience

+ Medical office experience

+ Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans

**New York Residents Only:** The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $23.94 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
