County Caseworker I and II

Westmoreland County Children's Bureau is looking for organized, intelligent, and caring people to fill several County Caseworker 1 and Caseworker 2 positions. Caseworkers will be expected to meet with families and children, address concerns of child abuse and neglect, and develop a case plan to help those affected overcome barriers that may lead to child abuse or neglect. Individuals interested in pursuing a career in the field of child welfare should follow the following steps:

* Go to the State Employment website at www.employment.pa.gov and choose "Open Jobs"
* Search "Westmoreland County Caseworker" and if we have caseworker positions we are actively seeking, you'll see them listed here. If not, please check back later.
* Click the position, then click "Apply".
* If you feel you are qualified for both the Caseworker 1 and 2 positions, please apply for both.
* Follow the instructions for each application.
* Interested individuals are also asked to submit a resume and county application to the Westmoreland County Human Resources Department.

Caseworker 1: Minimum Experience and Training: A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences;

or

Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences;

or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
