Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience:
  • No minimum years of experience required.
  • Familiarity with legal processes is beneficial.

Job Duties:
- Screening:
  • Conduct introductory interrogations to determine jurisdictional basis for complaint filing.
  • Complete screening within 10-15 minutes, provide referrals if outside DHR jurisdiction.
  • Interact and communicate professionally and courteously.

- Intake:
  • Respond to walk-in, telephone, and written inquiries.
  • Define discrimination and explain the DHR complaint process.
  • Complete complaint intake forms with professionalism.
  • Interact and communicate professionally and courteously.

- Evidence Preparation and Documentation:
  • Prepare evidence for filing, receive and collate mailed documentation.
  • Verify, tab, and enter information into case files promptly and accurately.
  • Tabbed documentation with legible handwriting.
  • Enter information in CMS within three days of action.

- Case-Related Tasks:
  • Process case-related mail and perform general office tasks (typing, scanning, photocopying, faxing, filing, answering phones).
  • Tailor requests and log supplemental information from Complainants and Respondents.
  • Ensure clear and concise correspondence, information requested within 5 days.
  • Initiate conciliation upon request, follow up calls within five days if no response.

- Scheduling and Case Management:
  • Schedule investigative activities, maintain calendar of investigator activities.
  • Utilize Case Management System (CMS) for documentation and tracking.
  • Conduct caseload audits quarterly, make appropriate corrections on CMS.

- Other Duties:
  • Process mail, assist in case closing, assist with training of interns and new staff.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with legal processes is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Misc. Information:
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Interview will be conducted virtually, or in-person based on the availability.
  • Training will be provided.
  • Business casual dress code policy.
