Who We Are…
The Ned NoMad is a new members' club and hotel that opened in the heart of New York in summer 2022. It's the first international 'Ned' site to open following the launch of The Ned London in 2017.
The Property…
Located in The Johnston Building and formerly the NoMad Hotel in Manhattan, the property was built in 1903 as a store and office building. The original architectural features have been honored, with interiors designed by the Soho House Design team.
The Ned NoMad offers a mix of members-only and public spaces, including 167 bedrooms and suites. Ned's Club will give members access to a rooftop bar and terrace restaurant as well as a first-floor bar and lounge with live entertainment from The Atrium Stage, seven nights a week. New to the property is Cecconi's, a modern day classic Italian restaurant.
The Role…
We are looking for a Host to support and report directly to the Maitre'D and Food & Beverage team. This is a fast-moving business, so we are looking for the right individual to be autonomous and be able to pick up multiple tasks and projects at once.
Our culture is pacey but supportive, so you must be able to work in synergy with your peers and the different departments around you. Being an active communicator who is customer focused and detail-oriented is a must to ensure the experience provided is uniquely brilliant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for being one of the first points of contact for members while also greeting guests, answering incoming calls, and creating reservations for the Club/ Cecconi's restaurant and other food and beverage outlets.
* Demonstrate a keen eye for detail while maintaining an organized, clean, and effective workstation.
* Promote positive moments for members and guests from time of arrival through time of departure.
* Answer questions regarding menu options/specials, upcoming events, hours of operation and amenity availability/pricing.
* Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment.
* Support FOH team when needed by clearing tables for a streamlined seating experience.
* Address guest related concerns in real-time and take action that results in a positive resolution.
* Develop relationships with members and guests while also communicating notable conversations to management.
* Promote a positive atmosphere by being approachable and professional.
* Administrative tasks (i.e., properly keeping all paperwork logged and filed).
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
* Long periods of sitting or standing.
* Fast paced movements occasionally required to go from one part of the club to others.
* Must be able to understand and communicate clearly with guests, members, and coworkers.
* Must be able to reach and handle the computer, keyboard, and desktop items.
* Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
