The Pharmacist carries out duties assigned by the pharmacy manager and departmental policy and procedures. He/ She interprets compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to written or verbal physician orders and or prescriptions issued by an authorized prescriber; provides requested medication information to health care professionals and patients. Participates in clinical pharmaceutical services and provides pharmaceutical care to patients. Identifies, assesses and solves medication related problems. Assists prescribers in the hospital promoting safe, efficacious, and cost-effective medication therapy. Plans, organizes and directs efforts to assist in meeting the patient's pharmaceutical needs. Organization relationships include being directly responsible to the Pharmacy Manager and responsible for the supervision of pharmacy technicians.

What You'll Do:

* On-site pharmacy duties plus on-call after hours.
* Verify medication orders in Cerner on-site and remotely after hours.
* Be available for consultation and assistance with medication orders.
* Order, stock, and distribute medications as needed in the hospital and clinics, including narcotics.
* Perform monthly checks on crash carts and emergency boxes to assure that all medications and supplies are current.
* Responsible for all medication recalls.
* Ensure that inventory of all hospital and clinic medications remains at par levels throughout the organization. Check Pyxis console in Pharmacy to check low volume of medications.

Qualifications:

* State of California Registered Pharmacist license required.
* Previous experience in hospital pharmacy preferred.
* Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy System and Pyxis preferred.
* Two years of Infectious Diseases Training background preferred.
* BCIDP certification preferred.

Job Information:

* Per diem position.
* Starting wage $65.43 to $70.05 based on qualifications.
* Varied shifts to include weekends and holidays. On-call is required.
