Job Summary:

Texas ENT is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sleep Technician to join our team in Houston. The Sleep Technician will be responsible for conducting sleep studies, monitoring patients during sleep, and assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively with our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct Sleep Studies:
* Prepare patients for overnight sleep studies, including explaining procedures and fitting monitoring equipment.
* Conduct polysomnographic tests (PSGs) to diagnose sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, and narcolepsy.
* Monitor and record physiological data during sleep studies, including EEG, EMG, ECG, respiratory, and oxygen saturation levels.


* Patient Monitoring and Care:
* Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the sleep study.
* Respond to any patient needs or issues that arise during the study.
* Provide patient education on sleep hygiene and potential treatment options.


* Data Analysis and Reporting:
* Analyze sleep study results and prepare detailed reports for physician review.
* Identify and document any abnormalities or significant events during the sleep study.


* Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
* Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment to ensure accurate data collection.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with monitoring equipment.


* Collaboration and Communication:
* Work closely with sleep physicians, ENT specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding procedures, findings, and next steps.



Qualifications:

* Education and Certification:
* Licenseed with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and hold a CPSGT, RPSGT, CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS credential
* Current CPR certification.


* Experience:
* Previous experience as a Sleep Technician or in a related field is preferred.
* Experience in an ENT or sleep disorder clinic is a plus.


* Skills and Abilities:
* Strong technical skills and proficiency in the use of sleep monitoring equipment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.
* Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
