What You'll Do:

As a Medical Coder at Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians, you will be essential in accurately reviewing and coding office and ambulatory surgical center procedures to ensure timely and proper reimbursement. Your key responsibilities will include:

* Reviewing and Analyzing Charts: Scrutinize patient records and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
* Accurate Coding: Apply current and active codes to office and ASC procedures, following legal and regulatory guidelines.
* Problem Solving: Act as a resource for insurance resolutions and answer coding questions from the team.
* Compliance Expert: Ensure all coding adheres to federal and state regulations, helping us stay compliant.
* Charge Entry: Perform precise charge entries and ensure provider documentation is coded correctly.
* Team Player: Assist with any special projects or additional duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

What You Bring:

* Certification: Current RHIT or CPC certification through AAPC or AHIMA is required.
* Experience: At least 2+ years of coding experience, particularly in Orthopedic and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) settings.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical coding, data entry, and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software-experience with eClinicalWorks is a must.
* Attention to Detail: You have an eagle eye for detail and can manage your time efficiently, multitasking without sacrificing accuracy.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with medical professionals and contribute to problem-solving.
* Commitment to Learning: Maintain coding certification and participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date with industry standards.
