Position Summary: The Director of Technology Modernization owns and/or influences the vision, principles, standards, and processes that guide the purchase, design, and deployment of our technology modernization and simplification initiative at Primis Bank. The scope of the role is across application architecture, business architecture, and network infrastructure. This role is expected to collaborate with lines of business and IT partners and identify synergies across Primis and our various subsidiaries, determine improvement opportunities, and develop solutions using platforms and technologies while in line with Primis Bank's standards. This position will also primarily drive the execution of strategic imperatives to include: protecting primis' charter, making it easy to work here, identifying efficiency gains, and partnering across divisions.

Essential Functions

* Inventory Primis' current application list, identify overlap, and consolidate to the most beneficial solution.
* Identify current application capabilities that are not enabled or configured and lead the enhancements.
* Determine installed vs. current version, perform updates, and work on migration to cloud hosted solutions.
* Work across Primis to find where client friction exists and determine if there are easier but also safer solutions.
* Ensures scalability and sustainability of technology solutions.
* Ensures compliance with standards, guidelines, risk and change management and continuous improvement.
* Act as primary point of contact for subsidiaries to push for holistic application solutions but also identify the best solution across subsidiaries.
* Designs solutions for the overall health, performance, availability and actively works resolution of system and client experience impacts for one or more environments, applications, or platforms.
* Provides continuous improvement ideas to reduce expenses and/or improve efficiency.
* Assesses the technical viability of new and emerging products and technologies.
* Contributes to technical documentation, specifications, and project artifacts.
* Contributes to application platform architectural guidelines.
* Deploy and own (from an IT perspective) custom built solutions such as the integration layer and Panacea marketplace and V1BE.
* Design and deployment of the DevOps infrastructure for the development team.
* Drive the "make it easy to work here" IT initiative while also keeping all environments secure.
* Ensure information security standards are met or exceeded across the entire IT landscape.
* Ensure emergency "kill switches" are in place should any infrastructure component detect a vulnerability.
* Be the "technology bridge" between Primis and all subsidiaries.

Marginal Functions

* Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, and EEO/AA/Fair Employment Practices.
* All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Educational & Experience Requirements

* Bachelor's degree from a four (4) year college or university
* Ten (10) or more years IT leadership at a financial institution
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud infrastructure.

Minimum Skill Requirements

* Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and social media skills.
* Ability to write reports, press releases and business correspondence fluently.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
* Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, performing detailed analyses and developing policies and procedures).
* Initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Bank activities.
* Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

Physical Demands

In terms of an 8-hour workday, "occasional" equals 1% to 33%, "frequent" equals 34% to 66%, and "continuous" equals 67% to 100%. However, some duties are performed monthly, annually, or sporadically throughout the year and are essential functions.
