Job Description:
I. PURPOSE OF JOB

This position performs staff functions in the Clinical Engineering Department. This individual works under supervision to perform a basic/advanced range of skilled work, preventive maintenance, repair, and safety testing, documentation, and department development.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures that will ensure appropriate technical support of clinical units, with timely completion of all repairs and inspections.
  • Ensures that all clinical instrumentation is operating in a safe and accurate fashion.
  • Is responsible for ensuring the timely completion of all repairs and inspections of clinical equipment assigned.
  • Serves as a resource person by providing technical knowledge to others seeking advice and assistance.
  • Works with the Philips Bio-Medical Site Manager to ensure the overall accuracy and efficient operation of the department.
  • Maintains at least 80% documented productivity.
Job Qualifications:
V. QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education:

Associates degree in Specialized Technology with a major in Bio-Medical / Clinical Engineering, or an associates degree in electronics with three years experience in a related field or CBET certification with a minimum of 2 years experience in the Bio-Medical field.

B. Experience:

This is a staff-level position; prior hospital experience is preferred but not required.

C. Other Skills:

Proficiency in the use of basic office machines and personal computers is required.

Basic knowledge of the following computer software is desired.

a) Microsoft Office

b) DOS

c) Windows 10, Windows 7, & Windows 2000 Professional
