Responsibilities

Provide ongoing care and observation of clients.

Documents all data accurately in a timely manner.

Administers medications and documents according to Methodist Family Health Policy.

Assists Physician and Registered Nurses as needed.

Insures maintenance of the therapeutic environment through proper use of the Teaching-Family Model of care.

Provides health teaching to patients and their families.

Assists in the implementation of the treatment plan.

Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment and communicates pertinent data to other service providers as needed.

Assists in preparation and helps maintain compliance with Licensing, Medicaid and JCAHO standards.

Takes advantage of professional growth opportunities and in-service training.

Attends regular staff meetings, as required.

Provides and maintains requested information and program records.

Demonstrates knowledge and utilization of appropriate CPI techniques.

Documents in progress notes accurate and detailed descriptions of patients' behaviors relative to treatment plan and diagnoses. (Provide a sample).

Must demonstrate competency for waived testing or for phlebotomy.

Responsibility is assumed for continuing educational and professional development and contributions are made to the professional growth of others. Continuing education, etc. will be documented and copies provided to the personnel department to be kept in employee's record.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Nurse Supervisor, Director of Nursing, or other applicable personnel.

Can demonstrate competency for waived testing or for phlebotomy.

Qualification

Arkansas Licensed Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.

Current Arkansas Licensure.

Meet requirements for privileging status as specified by Methodist Behavioral Hospital Standards.

Arkansas Licensed Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.

Current Arkansas Registered Nurse license.

Experience with adolescents and children in a psychiatric setting preferred.

Lift and hold at least 50 pounds for one minute.

Requires the strength and stamina to perform clinical duties.

Must be physically capable to receive verbal and written directions. Must be physically capable of sitting and standing for several hours at a time.

Must have good auditory, visual and olfactory ability. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading and writing, and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.

Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means, to review information and enter/retrieve data, to see and read characters on a computer screen, chart or other treatment items.

Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health.

Flu shot is mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).
