Overview

This role requires on-site work occasionally at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and two days per week at our Glendale offices. The role allows for remote work 2 to 3 days per week, aligning with CHLA'S flexible work policy and the needs of the department.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Continuing Medical Education (CME) department designs and delivers programs to enhance healthcare providers' knowledge and skills while ensuring compliance with ACCME and AMA standards. Responsibilities include strategic planning, budget management, and integrating technology for efficient delivery and tracking. The team collaborates with clinical staff and stakeholders to align educational offerings with healthcare needs, improving patient care while fostering professional development and leadership in medical education.

Program Specialist Overview: The Program Specialist will propel CHLA into a new era of medical education by supporting Interprofessional Joint Accreditation and CME activities aligned with CHLA's strategic goals. Responsibilities include integrating interprofessional education, ensuring compliance, and providing operational support.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

* Required: 2+ years of healthcare administration or medical education experience with program support and event planning.
* Preferred: Experience in mentorship programs, budget management, LMS proficiency, accreditation processes, and financial documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Healthcare Administration: Medical education processes and administrative procedures.
* Regulatory Compliance: ACCME and AMA standards.
* Financial Principles: Budgeting and financial reporting.

Skills:

* Program Management: Efficient planning and evaluation of educational programs.
* Event Planning: Coordinating events and logistics.
* Technology Integration: Proficient in LMS or similar technologies.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for stakeholder engagement.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

* Required: Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination).
* Preferred: Master's in Healthcare Administration.

Pay Scale Information

USD $46,800.00 - USD $84,364.80

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
