Primary Function: The Commuter Outreach Graduate Assistant serves as the assistant to the Coordinator of Commuter Outreach which serves 400+ commuter students. He or She is charged with setting a tone in the Citrone Family Commuter Center and in all aspects of commuter contact, consistent with the mission and policies of the College centered on students? academic, spiritual and personal development.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree, preference given to candidates currently enrolled in a graduate program.

Experience:

Commuter student or experience being a commuter student.

Leadership experience on a College Campus

Essential Duties:

* Responsible for being the liaison between Coordinator of Commuter Outreach and the off-campus experience in connection with local areas (within 50 mile radius)
* Participate in Commuter events as well as campus events to be seen on campus
* Responsible for overseeing the Commuter Club as club administrator, reporting the Coordinator.
* Responsible for communications with commuters through newsletters, flyers and emails with approval from supervisor.
* Uphold and articulate College policies and protocol relating to the Student Handbook and behavior on and off campus.
* Maintain adequate visibility in and around campus.
* Hold regular office hours in office in the Citrone Family Commuter Center
* Manage the opening and closing of the Citrone Family Commuter Center at the beginning and end of each semester and for all breaks
* Participate and manage various commuter life functions such as, orientation, open houses, of campus events etc.
* Complete administrative tasks related to the department, division and/or College as deems appropriate by supervisor

Challenges:

This position is a flexible 20 hour a week work schedule that includes additional summer, evening and weekend obligations consistent with the academic calendar and student lifestyle. Must be available in and outside of normal working hours for consultations and emergencies.
