Non- Destructive Evaluation Engineer

Job Description

Summary: The main function of a quality engineer is to research and test the design functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems, and processes, and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints and evaluate product integrity and standards. Job Responsibilities: - Develop sampling procedures and designs, and create forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. - Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment, testing measurement, analytical equipment, and facilities. - Write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities. - Specialize in areas of quality control engineering such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software research and development, and administrative application. - Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing products, and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

Hard Skills

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
* Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field such as Computer Aided Design (CAD)

Typical

task breakdown:

* Part identification. Material management. Print interpretation. Nondestructive evaluation. Documentation. Communication. Work with laboratory, internal quality engineers & external suppliers.

Interaction

with team:

* This position will interact with several team members including the NDE management team, the AMT Laboratory team, the quality team & external suppliers.

Work

environment:

Mostly

shop with some office/desk included for most of the documentation &

communication. Additional work environments including supplier locations

Education

& Experience Required:

* Associate of Applied Science in Nondestructive testing technology or equivalent certifications.
* Preferred candidates would have AWS CWI Certification
* Preferred candidates would include 3+ years of previous experience

Skills

* UT - Ultrasonic Testing (Shear Wave)
* UTPA - Ultrasonic Testing Phased Array
* RT - Radiography Testing
* VT - Visual Testing/Inspection of welds
* MT - Magnetic Particle Testing/Inspection
