Minimum Qualifications:
1. Registered Behavior Technician Certificate (RBT) (preferred)
2. High School Diploma or higher education
3. Extensive knowledge of behavior intervention best practices
4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals and stakeholders
6. Proficient in using educational software and tools for data management

About the Role:
Why the role exists:
The Behavior Intervention Technician is responsible for providing support such as observations, collecting data, modeling intervention strategies, at the direction and oversight of a BCBA to school based teams.
The role is essential in building capacity in supporting classroom teachers to work with and engage students demonstrating behaviors that interfere with the learning environment.
This role involves collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other educational professionals to ensure implementation of behavior interventions that support the unique needs of each student.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Behavior supports and development
- Assist in creating data collection documents
- Observes and collects classroom data on observable behaviors of students
- Ensures that behavior interventions are implemented with fidelity and makes necessary recommendations adjustments to plan.
- Makes recommendations to update and revise behavior interventions in order to support student progress.
- Provides behavior intervention data to BCBA in order to meet compliance checklist
Collaboration
- Communicates with team members to implement behavior interventions.
- Elicits teachers input for behavior intervention plans
- Work closely with special education teachers, general education teachers, school psychologist, speech therapists, and other related service providers
- Participate in MTSS and care review meetings to discuss data and student progress.
Compliance
- Ensure all IEPs comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and state specific regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all cases
- Maintain documentation for RBT certification
Training and Support
- Participates in all compliance and computerized behavior training as required by the District
- Provide support to teachers and staff on implementation of behavior plan and best practices
- Co-train with BCBA during school-based professional development
Assessment and Evaluation
- Assist in reviewing and interpreting behavior evaluations and assessments to inform intervention development
- Collaborate with assessment team to ensure appropriate testing and identification of student needs
- Evaluate intervention effectiveness through data analysis
Perform other duties as assigned
