The CDL Driver and Warehouse will help support the Food Bank, which distributes food free of charge to over 65 partner agencies in our community. Over 50,000 of our neighbors in need receive food assistance through this collaborative effort every month. Driver will operate Free Clinic vehicles to pick-up and distribute food and other donations. Driver will visit multiple locations to pick up donations using a hand truck, manually load the vehicle, and transport donations to the Food Bank where they will unload. Drivers receive, store, and distribute food at the warehouse, ensuring all paperwork is completed. Also responsible for general facilities maintenance and cleaning. Reports to Food Bank Director.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 5:00am-1:00pm. Ability to work weekends in accordance to program needs.

Position Responsibilities
  • Pick up and deliver products to the Food Bank or to other designated agencies, vendors, or donors in a safe and productive manner.
  • Unload, sort, store, pack and distribute food and other donations.
  • Ensure all food and non-food items are handled, stored, and distributed in a safe and sanitary manner. Follow and maintain all health and sanitation codes.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pick-up receipts.
  • Maintain good relationship with vendors, donors, and agencies.
  • Supervise and instruct assigned volunteers.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist in daily set up of warehouse.
  • Assist with USDA distribution, distribution to partner agencies and in-house programs.
  • Perform routine care and maintenance of building, grounds, and vehicles. Assist with trash pickup and removal. Keep grounds functional, presentable, and clean.
  • Assist with food drives or special events, as needed.
  • Perform warehouse duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Database experience or knowledge preferable.
  • Prospect research experience preferable.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Education & Experience
  • Have a valid, clean Florida driver's license. Class A or B CDL with air brakes required.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid medical card on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles and submit a copy to employer upon hire.
  • Possess and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Maintain registration with FMCSA Clearinghouse.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a physical, drug test, and criminal background check.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow written and verbal instruction.
  • Must have good communication skills and basic math skills.
  • Be proficient operating an electric and manual pallet jack, and a counter-balance forklift.
  • Be proficient driving a 26-foot refrigerated truck, 14-16-foot box truck, and cargo van. If Class A, also proficient driving a 53ft tractor trailer.
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, and equipment used in warehouse operation.
  • Tobacco free workplace.
  • Subject to random drug testing.

Physical Requirements
  • Have ability for strenuous lifting: Must be able to lift 60 pounds or more, a moderate percentage of the time, and have the ability and stamina to lift 25 to 30 pounds regularly.
