Job Responsibilities

Filling multiple positions

The employee will work under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator. Serve as a uniformed and easily identifiable member of the agency's docent program. The employee will be stationed at key locations on the USS Yorktown or elsewhere on-site and will be responsible for greeting visitors to Patriots Point in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions and offering directions and information.

* Greet visitors to Patriots Point in a friendly and professional manner. The employee will at times roam the ships and property and interact with visitors.
* Answer a wide variety of questions from visitors and proactively offer directions about facilities/exhibits, historical background, and current activities at Patriots Point.
* The employee will at times need to conduct tours of the ships for individuals of all ages.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

High school diploma and valid driver's license.

Qualifications Needed

* Must project a pleasant, positive, and outgoing personality; and must enjoy meeting and interacting with people of all ages and nationalities.
* Must be willing to complete initial and ongoing education and other training offered by Patriots Point in order to become proficient in relevant history, facilities, programs, and upcoming events.
* Must be comfortable approaching and speaking to individuals and groups of all ages and nationalities.
* It is highly desired that the employee project an engaging and dynamic attitude in his/her interactions with visitors. We are looking for the "right someone" to bring a spirit of fun and entertainment to the job.
* Must be able to climb up and down ladders in a ship environment.
* Position may require to employee to work evenings and weekends.
