Responsibilities

Call Specialist - Full Time - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 6:30 pm to 7 am.

Cumberland Hall Hospital is a 97 bed, licensed, acute psychiatric hospital located in beautiful Hopkinsville, KY. Cumberland Hall features individual units for youth, adults and active duty military, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average over 1500 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Cumberland Hall Hospital.

Job duties to include:

+ Receive Inquiry calls and assesses client urgency or need for Assessment and follows up on any pending calls

+ Relays new referral information to Marketing personnel for follow through

+ Obtains signatures/initials on release of information forms.

+ Separates patient from belongings

+ Wands each patient before going to admission office

+ Routes incoming faxes to admission nurse for review.

+ Copies/Files/Mails/Faxes departmental correspondence as needed.

+ Completes vital signs and breathalyzer

+ Reviews demographic sheet for accuracy and completeness

+ Complete admission consents accurately and thoroughly.

+ Acts as liaison between patients, families, and program staff during admission process.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors Degree in a human service related field preferred.

Experience: One year experience in mental health setting and/or training in admissions and referrals preferred.

Licenses/Certificates: N/A

Must possess demonstrated leadership ability, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of assessment and crisis intervention telephone and communication skills. Moderate computer systems and software proficiency, demonstrated knowledge of day-to-day clerical and hospital procedures. Ability to maintain confidential information is required.

The Call Specialist must have near visual acuity necessary for evaluating patients and reading charts. Eye/hand coordination and finger dexterity essential for manual charting. The ability to talk and hear is necessary for conversing with and assessing patients.
