A Day in the Life:

The Respiratory Therapist Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department in our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to our residents.

Respiratory Therapist Manager Schedule:

Salaried-Exempt, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, on-call availability is required

Respiratory Therapist Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage the 24-hour operations of the respiratory therapy department.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, orientation, training, and development.
  • Develop and implement departmental operations and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain open communication with the administration team to address resident, staff, and facility needs.
  • Coordinate and participate in pulmonary rounds.
  • Foster a positive work environment through team building and engagement initiatives.
  • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional development.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement in all aspects of the department.
  • Provide education and counseling to residents and families as needed.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with residents, clients, staff, and the community.

Respiratory Therapist Manager Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current, unencumbered, active license/certification as a Respiratory Therapist in Kentucky.
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, long-term care, or related facility preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
