* REPORTS TO: Building Administrator.


* JOB GOALS:

To support the delivery of School District 91's curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.

To help each participating student gain and increase self-discipline and cheerleading skills, and to promote accomplishment in each individual and the team as a whole.


* MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Organizes and supervises election of cheerleading squad
* Arranges and conducts all cheerleading practices.
* Prepares a team workout that fits both the team and individual needs.
* Makes contact with parents on a regular basis.
* Accompanies cheerleaders on all road trips to supervise and chaperone.
* Instructs and directs cheerleaders in crowd control methods.
* Attends all home contests for football, basketball, volleyball and wrestling. Supervises cheerleaders at all contests.
* Carries out policies, procedures and discipline as stated in the District Policy Manual as applicable to cheerleading.
* Tends to injuries and uses preventative measures to avoid injuries.
* Maintains the cheerleading budget and purchases uniforms.
* Is responsible for the welfare and safety of all team members.
* Maintains a direct line of communication with administration.
* Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
* Performs all other duties as assigned.




* TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employed annually under the High School Coach stipend as per the Stipend Schedule listed in the Negotiated Master Contract. Beginning stipend amount - $6,178.


* EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
