Crisis Intervention Specialist- Inpatient

This role will provide clinical behavioral health support and care for patients primarily in the inpatient hospital settings but may also contribute to patient care in the emergency department and psychiatric emergency services.

Position Summary:

The Crisis Intervention Specialist at Bozeman Health Behavioral Health provides patient-centered, trauma-informed, urgent and emergent behavioral health (mental health and addictions) services in adult and pediatric emergency settings across the health continuum.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ M.S. in Psychology or Counseling or, M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work or, MSN PMHNP or Clinical Nurse Specialist

+ Two Years Experience in Crisis Intervention, Psychiatric Emergencies, Safety Planning, Level of Care Placement

+ Preferred: Psy.D or PH.D. in Psychology

+ Preferred: Licensed and MHP eligible

+ Preferred: Five Years Experience in Psychiatric Emergencies and Crisis Intervention

Essential Job Functions:

+ Key services include but are not limited to: brief psychosocial assessment, brief drug and alcohol assessment, crisis intervention, hold assessment, ED diversion, care coordination and communication with medical team, family, referents, access community-based providers, and transitions of care/ discharge planning. Incumbents in this job provide a variety of key services in guiding the patient through the continuum of care

+ Works both independently and collaboratively as part of a interdisciplinary team.

+ Provides behavioral health consultations by supporting or assisting practitioners, family members and patients.

+ Provides focused, effective and evidence-based interventions.

+ Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times

+ Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

+ Creativity, problem analysis and decision making

+ Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight

+ Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

+ Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality

+ Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment
