Big-D Construction is looking for a General Superintendent to join the team located in Tempe, AZ.

Key responsibilities include:

* Work with Project Executives and Director of Operations to manage Superintendent and Foreman project staffing
* Collaborate with the Business Unit Safety Director to enforce the BU Safety Program.
* Support the Project Teams throughout the pre-construction phase in developing logistics plans, schedules, and other key operational requirements
* Provide support to Business Development, Estimating, and the Project Teams in creating operational plans for all pursuits.
* Address subcontractor field issues affecting budget, quality, or schedule.
* Distribute and harmonize all field trade tasks in accordance with varying project requirements.
* Assist the Superintendent throughout the project's lifespan.
* Help develop schedule recovery plans with project's that exceed key schedule variance metrics
* Offer advice on the execution of the Project Quality Assurance/Quality Control program.
* Oversee any Self-Perform activities
* Recognize projects with opportunities for self-performance and aid in crafting the Self-Perform proposal.
* Oversee tradespeople training.
* Evaluate project timelines with Superintendents/Foreman, ensuring vital tasks and decision-making stay on track
* Document field-related project concerns that may influence budget, quality, or schedule, and collaborate with the project management team to develop solutions

Requirements:

* 7-10 years or more of related experience working on commercial construction projects as a Superintendent
* Local subcontractor market and industry experience
* Possess strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Procore, P6
* Ability to effectively lead and manage teams.
* Ability to interact and communicate effectively with project team, customers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
* Extensive knowledge of established construction practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes.
* Ability to read and understand work orders, budget, change orders, safety standards, plans specifications, shop drawings, blue prints, submittals, manufacturer's literature, contract documents and specifications, and CPM schedules.
* Understand construction scheduling and sequencing
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace.
* Thorough and attentive to details; extremely organized and able to prioritize and multitask.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
