Job Description

* The Metrologist is responsible for calibrating a wide range of equipment and instrumentation within pre-determined accuracy and precision tolerances.
* Equipment that is in scope includes but is not limited to: balances, mechanical/electronic pipettes, thermometers, tachometers, timers, multi-meters, check weights and other standards (that are then used to calibrate other devices), pressure control devices and environmental chambers.


* Maintaining a schedule, and adjusting the schedule based on the needs of partner groups
* Reviewing the work of peers and assessing the work of external vendors.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree from accredited Institution in Metrology, Electronic Engineering, Physics or appropriate technical discipline, advanced metrology/calibration training and certifications or previous military PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory, or comparable) experience
* Capability of operating in a regulated pharmaceutical environment
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Minimum 3+ years' experience in a metrology, calibration or validation function; preferably within a research/regulatory environment.
* Experience operating in a cGxP environment is not required, but is helpful.
