What you will do:

Owens Companies, is hiring a skilled Journeymen Chiller Service Technician who has worked in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional markets to join our team. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years' chiller experience, with knowledge of maintenance procedures, trouble shooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers of all brands.

Responsibilities:

* Services, troubleshoots, and cleans heating and cooling equipment and related products. This includes air-cooled and water-cooled systems from 10 tons to 1,000 tons; various sizes of air conditioners, pumps, air handlers, cooling towers, spot coolers, electric and gas heaters.
* Maintain, service and setup service equipment and rigging equipment
* Operate equipment including vehicles and forklifts
* Strong Electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge of performing preventive maintenance on all types and brands of chillers
* Open Chiller heads.
* Brushing tubes
* Replacement of oil and refrigerant filters
* Start up and testing operation.
* Logging and recording temps, amps, and voltage.
* Communicate in a professional manner with co-employees, subcontractors, and customers.
* Perform other duties as needed, including general maintenance, cleaning, lifting, organizing

Education / Certifications

* Have or obtain Minnesota Unlimited Mechanical Journeyman's license
* EPA Universal license
* High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience/Qualifications

* 3-5+ years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience with all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives.
* Proficiency in servicing, troubleshooting, and cleaning cooling equipment and related products.
* Ability to obtain EPA Universal license within 60 days of hire.
* Possess and maintain a valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier.
* Must be able to lift and manipulate objects of up to 35 pounds often and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
* Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions with exposure to outdoor temperature variations, noise, vibrations, gas or fumes, grease, cleaning solvents, degreasing agents, machinery and its moving parts, odors, and dust particles.
* Must be able to be on call nights and weekends on a rotating basis.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
* Pay begins at journeyman union scale, with impressive total package
